Cant setup email notifications
« on: December 23, 2014, 05:51:57 PM »

Hi, I have created a MyDlink account, enabled it using the router's interface, installed Mydlink Lite app on my Android tablet.

I am using the email address and password which I used during Mydlink account registration

Problem is when I try to enable email notifications I get test failed

Probabilities, according to my experience with gmail:

1. you are trying to use gmail
2. probably gmail filters and blocks dlink messages

So, my workaround:

1.
I got another email somewhere else, like
dlink@anotherservice.comm

2.
I arranged that all email from this account is forwarded to my gmail account
(I tested it and it works)

3.
I changed mydlink settings so that messages are send through the secondary account

4.
I changed mydlink username(email) to the new dlink@anotherservice.comm
(so now I login to mydlink with the secondary email)

Thus, dlink sends the mails through dlink@anotherservice.comm to dlink@anotherservice.comm and the messages are forwarded to gmail.
