What happend?
« on: January 01, 2010, 01:33:25 AM »

Just got the dns 323 a week ago, firmware 1.07 preinstalled. Two WD green 1,5 TB standard installation.
BT installed. Drives are mapped X and Y both on my xp and vista pc:s.
On the X drive I placed all my media och on Z my backup.

Now all of a sudden Z is gone and my backup folders are placed on X....and all my media is gone!

WTF....is this? Tried a factory reset....no luck. Can't map Z in ESU but in config both drives show.

Any ideas?

Are you sure it isn't as simple as a failure of the second drive?  Best to take them out and test them using a standard PC.  I use the disk manufacturer's diagnostic.

That was my first guess too. But that is not the case.
Somehow the two drives has changed labels. X is now Y and Y is X.

After alot of hassle I managed på chang it back and mapp my two drives again. Just hoping it stays this way now. I don't understand why or how it happend, I wasn't doing anything, just listening to music, thats it!

Another question, how do I uninstall BT running firmware 1.07?

Oh, and if I upgrade to 1.08 do my settings get reset?

Please, Dlink make it possible to share more than ONE folder (not root) via FTP!

Go to the applications section and select the Stop button.  Then you can remove it.

Whenever you upgrade firmware, you should  reset to factory defaults and reconfigure.  Sometimes the new firmware has different mappings for configuration data.

When you come to the login screen, there is a Configuration and Applications button.  Pick the Applications button.

It did. 1.07 doesn't have this feature. According to D-Link support BT is not removable from this or earlier FW versions.

When you upgrade, be sure to reset to factory defaults and reconfigure.  Your data will not be affected.

Couldn't he just delete the bt-files in he apps-folder and restart? I tried to disable bt in 1.8, but it kept on accessing my drive hinder it to go to sleep. I had to manually delete the files to make it stop. could it be that the bt installed in 1.7 is still running when installing as an app in 1.8?

Since there are hooks to actually run the BT client, it's not a good idea to simply delete the files.
