Title: DCS-2120 and Linux
Post by: bronfai on May 02, 2017, 10:35:02 PM
Hello,
I have an old IP camera DCS-2120, originally comes with software for Windows, but I only have Linux (Mint 18). Can I use that camera in that environment?

Possible you can access the cameras web page with FF browser using it's IP address of the camera.
Not sure about installation though. If you can get to the cameras web page in FF in Linux, you might be able to set up the camera using it's UI or set up wizard there if it has it in the UI.

What region are you located?

Best bet would be to try it and find out.

Hello,
I am from Spain. When I select LIVE VIDEO I get this error: "Your platform does not support plug-in to view MPEG4 video"

Ya, this plug is only supported in Mac and WIndows.
