Scheduled and Motion Sensor recording together?
« on: September 14, 2015, 06:10:32 AM »

I am sure there is an answer to this on the forum somwhere already but I couldn't find it.

Is the DNR-202L capable of recording on motion sensing during a scheduled time?  I want a system that I can setup to only record video during the evening and then only when it senses motion.

Thanks,

I haven't actually done this yet but I have played around in all the areas mentioned in the list.

1.   Connect and login to the DNR-202L
2.   Click on NVR Info
3.   Click on Advanced Settings
4.   Click on Event Settings
5.   Select which camera(s) you want to set up (CH01, CH02, CH03, and/or CH04)
6.   Select the Event type you want, Connection Lost, Motion Detected, Digital Input
7.   Select Action if desired (note: I’m having trouble getting the E-Mail to work properly)
8.   Click on Recording Schedule in the left panel
9.   From the Camera List, select the camera you want to set up
10.   Click on the green Record on event button
11.   In the Sun through Sat rows select the times that you want to set up for motion detection. The selected times should show up in Green. (It seems my DNR wants to flip back to red all the time.)
12.   Repeat 9-11 for each camera
13.   Look at the settings to make sure you covered the times you want and that the selections are in Green
14.   IMPORTANT! Click on Save Settings button on the bottom.

15.   The next step is to go to your camera(s) and set up motion detection in those.

Before going through this for all you cameras I'd try a few test to make sure it's going to work.

Good luck!

Now that I have the e-mail alerts working I can give this a shot and report how well scheduled motion sensing works... or doesn't.

In the old version of the software, this seemed to work just fine.  The 2.02 firmware is my first exposure to the "stainless" interface for the DNR-202L, and it doesn't display Motion Events during Continuous Recording in the same way.  It logs motion events sent by the camera, but doesn't highlight them properly in the playback selection calendar like the previous version did.
I couldn't tell you if the e-mail function works, though.  I've never used it.

Just curious, what do you mean by "stainless"? There a captured example?
