Title: Disabling green LED light
Post by: mustangchris04 on March 10, 2014, 08:25:27 PM
The camera has a green flashing LED light that I can't seem to disable. Page 66 of the user manual says that there is an option to disable the LED on the "DI ad DO" page. I don't have that option on that page: http://screencast.com/t/x0W8SHXT

Firmware Version : 1.02

Found it under Maintenance>Admin>LED.

It would be nice if D-Link would keep their user manuals up-to-date.

Most if not all of the Cloud cameras have that option. Yes, in some cases the user manuals are not 100% perfect.

Up to date would be nice. I'd rather have the language in their "Configuration Interface" make sense. Granted, the words are English, but much of it makes no sense at all. Very powerful camera and a lot of great features for the price - but the documentation stinks. As you're finding with the image issues, there's a lot of trial and error required to start to understand what different settings do.

That's right. I'm in the technology industry, but some of the terms in the interface don't make sense. (Not sure if those terms are common language to those that are familiar with CCTV systems)

I think it's an issue with D-Link itself. I own one of their NAS drives, and that documentation is the same... English words that don't make any sense. But again, the price point along with reliability and features is really good. You just need to put in some time to make things work.
