Windows 7 does not see my DNS-323
« on: December 21, 2013, 11:25:36 PM »

I have a DNS-323 NAS which is connected to a DGS-1008D hub
Also connected to the DGS-1008D hub is a DSL-2750U modem and my computer

My PC is running Windows 7 professional.

Until recently, this set up has been working fine
From last week I can no longer access the DNS-323 through Windows explorer. My backup software also cannot see the drives.
I can however successfully ping the DNS-323 and access the DNS-323 software via my browser
The DNS-323 is configured with a static IP address

How do I trouble shoot this? I need to get my backups working!

Did you try to see it using the DLINK Storage Utility?

It could be a Windows Update that is causing the issue or a change on your network card driver.

Found my problem. Microsoft Security Essentials!
At least I know know that Microsoft Security Essentials works

How do I change Microsoft Security Essentials so that it allows the  DNS-323

So if you disable the Real time your able to see your drive?
If so try this:
1- Disable real time
2- Use the Storage Utility to map your unit
3- Re-enable the realtime

You can try here:
ftp://ftp.dlink.ca/SOFTWARE/D-LINK_STORAGE_UTILITY/STORAGEUTILITY_5.1.0.3_WIN.ZIP

Link does not work!

Try this then.  The first one was an HTTP link to the FTP site which will not work.

ftp://ftp.dlink.ca/SOFTWARE/D-LINK_STORAGE_UTILITY/STORAGEUTILITY_5.1.0.3_WIN.ZIP
