Firmware 1.05 (04) and/or setup issues
« on: May 17, 2015, 10:09:10 PM »

I was having issues with my DCS-825L and decided to upgrade to 1.05 (from 1.04).  Now I am having even more issues and the only way I can get my cam to work at all is to use the built in myBabyCam-XXXX network.  If I try and set this thing up to my local network the setup consistently fails.  Here are some of my symptoms:

1) many of the cgi pages described http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=57687.15 no longer work.  Safari indicates that the associated xsl is missing
2) I turned on telnet to try and confirm this and my root password isn't 'admin'.  anyone know how to reset this?
3) when I try and connect to my local network via the step-by-step setup on an iPad, it always fails on step 8 when I switch over to my local network which I have set to not be hidden and I can confirm that my iPad is connected to the local network (by surfing a webpage) and I can also see on my router that the cam has acquired a local IP.

Everything was working just fine until I took it on my latest trip and tried to set it up at home again... was working fine when I was on my trip (again using the '+' mode on myBabyCam-XXXX network)

Help?

Did you factory reset the camera before applying the FW update then factory reset once more then set up from scratch?

PC Web Browser Configurations
Try FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again. (For older generation routers.)
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches before and after applying FW updates.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

hi use the older working firmware:
1. step
use your local http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/eng/admin/update.cgi
2.step
upload the last working firmware
3.step
restart and set your settings
