Problem with Scheduled downloads
« on: August 20, 2008, 01:04:22 PM »

Hi,

I'm  having a problem with the scheduled download settings. what i want to do is schedule the transfer of certain folder from Volume1 to Volume2. Volume1 is a 500GB Hard Drive, and Volume2 is a 250GB Hard Drive. They were set up as just plain drives (not raid or jbod)

Here are the settings i used

login method: account
username: backup
password: xxxxx
type: Folder
URL: \\192.168.1.100\Volume_1\My Documents\Jaimie's Documents\
Save To: Volume_2
When: Greyed out
Reocurring Backup: 00:00
Incremental: check on

when i click the test button i get this message

Test result: Failure

Please verify the URL,DNS settings, and your account settings.

i've check the username and password and tried resetting it, but can't seem to figure it out. Any Ideas

Are you choosing Local and selecting your folder in the browser? And make sure you are choosing Folder for sure and not File. This will cause the same message. It should Test successful.

Have you tried it anonymous as well for testing purposes?

i figured out what was causing the issue. it was the apostrophy " ' " in Jaimie's or John-Rock's in the folder name. I seems odd to me that it would crap out on a pretty standard character. something to look at fixing in the next firmware release maybe.

I seems odd to me that it would [exploitive deleted] out on a pretty standard character. . .

Hey, D-Link forums admin:  the word is "expletive," not "exploitive."
