Problem streaming to LG WebOS3
« on: July 02, 2018, 03:19:19 AM »

Hey guys!

I own a 43UH603V TV that is wirelessly connected (3m away) to my d-link dir-882 AC2600 router. The connection works fine for youtube, for example. On the same router the DLNA is activated and I have an external hard drive 2.5" WD MyPassport 25E2 4TB connected via usb3. The TV finds the disk through the wi-fi but reads only some of the folders. Specifically it reads the first folder (eg animations) and some of its subfolders (for example, animations/disney) while it does not detect other folders (eg movies or animations/films). Furthermore, the video files in the folders that can be read, are played normally. Exactly the same problem appears when I connect my TV through ethernet to the same router, while when the hard drive is directly connected to the TV, via the usb port, the problem disappears. Finally all pc or laptop devices on my local network, connected either through Ethernet or Wifi, read the disc correctly.

Is there a way to solve the problem without having to constantly relocate my external hdd between the router and the TV ?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?
  • Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming if seen under under Advanced/Networking. Enable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming for routers that have a Media Server option.

It maybe an issue with the TV if other devices can access the external drive connected to the router. Possible issue with TVs DNLA handling of access to data. Direct connection with TV and USB is not the same and DNLA connection thru a router.

Be sure the TVs FW is up to date as well...
Contact the Mfr of the TV for additional help and information regarding DNLA and connections with routers and USB drives...
