Title: Blinking power light
Post by: musicman on January 16, 2012, 07:34:00 AM
Help.

My DIR-655 was working fine until I added a wireless connection to an LG android smart phone. The wireless router worked for a while after that and then it stopped working. Now all I get is a flashing blue power light and four flashing blue wireless LAN lights. I tried resetting the routing without success. I tried disconnecting the power to the router for 12 hours and then trying to reset it again without success. I tried to access the router through the 192.168.0.1 address without success. By the way, my computer is connected by cable to the router. When I disconnect the cable from the router and bypass the router connecting the cable from the computer directly into the cable modem, I can connect to the internet but of course none of my wireless devices are connected. Does this mean that I need to repalce my router or is it salvageable.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like it's time to give Support a call.

Might check the voltage of the power supply with a multimeter and see if the PS is working. Those have been known to fail. RMA the unit is an option.

Disconnect the power from the dir655.  Wait few minutes and reconnect the power back.  While reconnect the power back, press and hold the reset button at the back of the router dir-655 for few minutes to reset the router.  Good luck!
