Let us know how it goes.

If anything you can have mine.  ;) Thought I would recommend a newer generation router for security reasons.  ::)

Your son, or your router?

If the former, OK, but only if it's a trade! :)

If the latter, how much (including shipping to Michigan)? [seriously]

So checking on this refurb I have  ;D and correctly testing it out, I'm typing this while connected to it via wired connection to the back of the 835 thats connected behind a different router.
Speed test is good too:

My iPhone seems to top out at about 140Mbps and my Galaxy pad is hitting 120Mbps. This is good for wifi.

Its working.  :D

I have ten cats. I have all the four legged dependents I need. (Maybe more than I need; two of them lick my nose every time I try to get some sleep. But, one is a jet black kitten that's too cute for words, and the other is getting on in years and pathetically loyal. So, I endure...)

Not sure if you're referring to megabyte or megabits per sec.

The fastest speed (download direction) I can get from our "fast" provider is roughly 2.2 megabytes per second. That's using the "DownThemAll" download manager, set to use seven concurrent download segments (to minimize handshake overhead).

How much do you want for the router, and what model is it? I'll pass the info over to "management" -- the decision is ultimately hers.

Same DIR-835. $40?
I'm on a 200/10 ISP service here.
