Title: Response Point with DVG-2001S
Post by: Baratong on September 30, 2008, 11:16:49 AM
I just bought and installed RP (10 phone system) for my office and love it. I do have a question I'm hoping I can get answered.

I have a high quality conference phone in my conference room that is analog/PSTN that I would like to use on my RP system. Is it possible to use a DVG-2001S Voip phone adapter to add a standard phone to the RP system? If so, is there a setup guide somewhere on how to accomplish this?

Thanks!

It is not possible to use the DVG-2001S to add a standard phone to the RP System. RP supports only devices that ship with the system (DVG-3104MS, DVX-2000MS and DPH-125MS).

It is possible, I've done it.  You will need to purchase a Quintim FXS gateway AFG-200 (2 port FXS, they have up to 8 if you need).  They have firmware that can upgrade the unit so it will show up like adding a phone.  Works great, have not had any issues with it yet.

DLink moderator, I apologize for listing another vendors product, but the fact is they are the only vendor offering an FXS gateway for RP at this time.  If anything, this greatly expands the functionality of any RP system and you never have to worry about Quintum selling RP systems (gateway only vendor).

Many thanks for the info... I checked out the Quintum FXS Gateway for RP, it is a bit pricey but looks like it would do the job. I wish DLink would put out a similar product....
