computer does not recognize network card
« on: November 28, 2010, 07:06:21 PM »

so I just got a D-Link Xtreme N Desktop Adapter (DWA552) and installed it as per instructions but my computer doesn't even know it's there (I have Windows 7). When I put in the installation CD, I get the message saying that I should put in the adapter but it's already in. I thought at first it was a corrupt adapter, so I exchanged it but the new one does the same thing. I know the slot works because I had a N150 adapter in a few days ago. Don't have another slot on my computer to try. Tried everything.....need help! Anyone else had this problem?

Sometimes when you tighten down the screw that holds down the bracket it can cause the tail end of the card to lift up.  Make sure the card is pushed in all the way in along the whole slot.
