I attempted to turn on extend wifi but when it's on, it lost network connectivity and the only way to reset this is to connect back with wired connect and turn off extend wifi setting. Is this normal behavior? How can I make this work?

For me, enabling the extend wi-fi did worked. I should mention that I have a Dlink router/Switch as well, and they seem to pair nice with eachother on Wi-Fi.
The only issue that I've seen was that once the extender wi-fi was enabled on the 933L, my laptops started to connect 75MB/s instead of 130MB/s, so I've diabled the extender. It is not much use for me.

I have the same problem, I attempted to turn on extend wi-fi but when it's on, it lost wireless network connectivity and the only way to reset this is to connect back with wired connect. Any suggestion?

I have the same problem with the DCS-931 when i upgraded firmware last week. I backed out the firmware change and it works fine.

Same problem here, upgraded to the latest firmware, then no wiresless conncection, I am using the wifi extender, i had to revert to the previous version to regain wireless connectivity.

I recommend trying this process:
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)
We use this on routers and DAPs. May help some...

I did the upgrade with a wired connection. Most of this is for routers not cameras but still good info. The firmware (1.05_b5) is just plain bad and breaks the extended mode and looses wifi connection. i backed it out and the older firmware works fine. Tried the install again and it still fails once extender mode is turned on. Needs a dlink fix

I worked through this problem also with the 933L... Appears when you enable the WiFi Extender that it changes the MAC Address of the unit, this may effect your connectivity through your router etc.... ?
Was a waste of two hours of my life I can never get back .....hahaha

Yep that is how it works. Problem is that works fine with the old firmware and fails with the new firmware. Two mac addresses is how extenders work. The new firmware has an issue

I'll pass this on to D-Link for review...

- What region are you located?
Where did you get this v1.05 FW version from?

I was having the exact same problem. I think I get it to work now. I'm not really sure which step helped me to fix the problem. I enabled Extend WIFI through mydlink.com page instead of enabling it locally. Before I enabled it, I actually restored it to factory settings. So I'm not sure it's the restore or mydlink.com fix my problem. Maybe some of you can try it out.

i have the same problem too ... wont work! ...i read on some post here that the problem was related to a special characters on the wifi password. Anyone confirm this?
