Failed to obtain SSL Socket Factory
« on: December 08, 2015, 07:49:51 AM »

Hello,

I just bought the smart plug with the idea of having remote control over a specific appliance at home. I found out that the only way to control the plug is to use the myDlink Home app. Either when trying to login or sign up however, I always get the following error message when hitting the submit button:

Failed to obtain SSL Socket Factory

Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/25m6587.png

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.1.2. Can anybody assist me with this as it's basically rendering all my dlink products useless.

Thanks everyone!

Sorry about that - I'm in Bulgaria.

Also I just realised that there's a separate Forum section for dlink Home app. If moderators can move my post to there I would be grateful. Apologies for mishandling it :)

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Hello,

This error was caused due to my Samsung Galaxy S2 not being supported, or just by being an old phone. They've released an update few days ago that addresses this issue. The app works like a charm now.

Best,
T.
