Can't add DCS-932LB1 to MyDlink

Good evening all,

For the last week, I've been fighting an issue whereby I can't add either of the two new DCS-932LB1 camera's to mydlink account.  Specifically, from factory reset, I can install the camera, get the IP address via WiFi through the MAC version of the DLINK setup software, but when I try adding it to mydlink account it comes up with an error stating that the login is incorrect (Errorcode: SIGNINERR004). I checked my login and the username/password are correct and I can access the site. I also went through and tried doing the install via the iPhone mydlink app and got a similar result where when adding to mydlink account it times out with an error (Errorcode: BINDERR012).

I've tried numerous things such as (1) disabling my ASUS firewall, (2) making the camera a raw DMZ device, and (3) even going to a friends house and attempting the setup from there.  No matter what I've tried I always end up with the same errors.

I've been back and forth with the support team a few times and their latest thought is that the new batch of maintenance they have scheduled for this week will resolve the issue. I'm going to try this again tomorrow and will update.

Has anyone else run into this issue.

Did you use the cameras set up software to get the camera set up and assign a camera log in password for the cameras? I know that we see this issue as well on D-Link routers if the admin log in doesn't have a password set on the router. Maybe same thing with the cameras.

I've done it a few different ways:

First, using the DLInk DCS-932LB1 setup software, I went through the process, got the wireless setup, and get to the point of adding it to mydlink.  Second, using the mydlink app on the iPhone, i've gone through and tried adding the camera through the Local Camera option, get to enter the password, and get to the point of adding it to mydlink.  With both, I get the same error and can't connect to mydlink to get the camera connected to mydlink.

Can you access the cameras web page using a browser to log and set up a PW there first, apply the setting and reboot then try to associate the camera with MDL.

The DCS-932LB1 camera itself, does not have a way whereby you can add it to mydlink directly.  I've tried setting up the camera manually then trying to add it to mydlink through the iPhone app and the desktop DLink setup application. I still get the same result - it can't connect to mydlink.

Can you still access the cameras web page to set up a PW, then walk thru the set up wizard to add the camera to the MDL service?

Yes. I can access the camera's web page and have the password set up on it.  When I try and add it through the desktop wizard or the iPhone client, it's the same error - it can't connect to mydlink.

A couple of more details. This is occurring with 2 brand new camera's - both DCS-932LB1 with firmware 2.12.01 (2015-10-01). I've tried (1) wired / wireless configurations, (2) NAT'd and unNAT'd configurations, (3) with and without firewalls, and (4) at a different home with a separate ISP vendor and firewall. 

I've got 6 various DCS camera's from DLink - all connected through mydlink.  These are the only two that are giving me issues.

These are brand new cameras from a retail store or online store?

Ok, seems that there is something going on with these cameras and getting them associated. I think you'd done everything I can think of. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Please explain the steps you are using in the iphone app?

QR code?  Or local?  Can you see them in local?

Can you get an android device to test with?

Thanks, I've been in touch with phone support and have a case number. Based on the last call I had with them, they stated that there are more users having this issue currently.  It's based on a configuration issue on the mydlink side, and I was told by support that I have to wait till the Aug 29th scheduled maintenance before I should try it again. I'm planning on waiting, but if it doesn't work, I'm going to return the cameras and start transitioning to another vendor.  This shouldn't be this difficult.

I've tried using my iPhone and iPad using the mydlink app.  Specifically, I attempted two methods per the phone support team.

Method 1: Reset the camera and try adding the camera from the Local Camera's section by clicking 'add a new camera'. It goes through the process, asks me for the new password, and then asks if I want to add it to mydlink account.  I click yes, and it times out with an error BINDERR003.  Tried this multiple times with the same result for both new DCS-932LB1 cameras.

I can see the camera's in local mode and they work if I look at them locally through Safari, but can't add them to mydlink. 

Note that I spoke to support today and they said that more customers are having an issue.  It seems that the recent maintenance on the mydlink side affected the DCS-932LB cameras ability to get added to the portal.  The technical told me that I have to wait till the Aug 29th maintenance and try again.  To be honest it's very frustrating since I've got 3 of the DCS-932L camera in mydlink account already.

All,

Now that the Aug 29th maintenance window has come and gone, I've attempted again through all of the various methods to add these cameras.  Still no luck in doing so.  I'm going to contact support again today, but if I still have no luck, and more runarounds, I'm just going to return them all.

I recommend phone contacting support. Get better results that way. Ask for higher level support if needed. Let us know how it goes.
