DSP-W215 - Manual Firmware Upgrade/Recovery
« on: May 02, 2018, 08:22:23 AM »

Source - https://eu.dlink.com/uk/en/support/faq/mydlink-home/uk_how_do_i_update_firmware_dch_s150_dsp_w215_dch_m225

NOTE: Updating the firmware will erase all stored settings and remove it from your mydlink account. You will need to add it to your mydlink Home account again.

D-Link will not be held responsible in the event of mishandling leading to failure of the product.

This procedure is the same for DCH-S150, DSP-W215 and DCH-M225.

Requirements:

- A computer (if not on a 192.168.0.xxx network, statically assign your wireless adapter to 192.168.0.2 - 255.255.255.0)
- The correct firmware file (unzipped) for your product - D-Link Support Site
- Disable your firewall and antivirus software.
- Write down the SSID and PIN # located on the label on the device (needed for step 3).

Step 1 – Unplug the device. Hold down the reset button and plug it in an outlet (while still holding down the reset button).

Step 2 – Wait approximately 10 seconds, the status LED should flash red. Release the reset button.

Step 3 – From your computer, connect wirelessly to the SSID (wireless network) of your product (in this example, the SSID would be DCH-S150XXXX; where XXXX is the last 4 digits of the MAC address of the product).

Step 4 – Open your web browser (don't use Chrome or Edge) and go to http://192.168.0.60 (http://192.168.0.50 for the DCH-M225).

Step 5 – Click “Select Firmware” and select the correct firmware update file, then click “Upgrade Firmware”.

Step 6 – Once the firmware update is completed, the product will restart.

Step 7 – Unplug the product from the wall socket, and plug it back in.

Step 8 – Repeat the setup procedure for the product using the mydlink Home app on your android or iOS device to reconfigure your product.
