DGL-4500 stats since rolling back to 1.15 on A1
« on: February 02, 2010, 05:25:50 PM »

Stats since Sunday Jan.31st around 8pm est. Not sure how good or bad these are. Wireless seems slow, but it hasn't reset since I've been using 1.15.

What wireless mode and band are you using?
What happens if you try a Mode Only like G or N? Same thing? Just curious.

I have been using N mode only on 5Ghz and have notice a big drop in the amount of packets dropped and errors. I'll post my stats when I get home.

I'm running 2.4ghz in b,g,n mode. Standard setup except I have short GI turned off. I only turned that off because of feedback I was seeing on the forums. I don't really know how it affects my connection either way. Tonight when I get home I am going to add some settings to it and reset the stats and see what happens. I haven't had any resets or been booted on my wireless connection so far, but I have noticed that it seems inconsistent. I run speed tests quite a bit to see what my connection is doing. Before when I had my DIR-655 the speeds were pretty consistent. I ran a few tests last night...the first test was like 8 mbps down, the second was 2 mbps down, then I jumped to 23 mbps down on the 3rd (where I should be), then it went under 1 mbps down. It seems odd that it jumps all over the place. With the DIR-655 it would stay between 15 & 20 mbps all the time. Any thoughts on this?

I'd like for you to try G only only on 2.4Ghz only and see what this does. Having mixed modes should work well however I'm only trying to see if some troubleshooting might help narrow down the issue your seeing. would also try B only and N only and see if there is any gain in stability for each mode only on the 2.4Ghz band. Let us know. Hope I can be of some help.
