Hello,

I have set up my 868L using bridge mode.  Newest firmware, rev A hardware.

In windows I issued the command

netsh wlan show networks mode=bssidFrom this I get:
BSSID=1 (my router upstairs about 40' away) with a signal strength of 87%.  Radio type is 802.11n

BSSID=2 corresponding to the MAC address of my 868L which is 6" from me has a signal strength of 73%.  Radio type is 802.11ac.

I don't know why the signal strength would be less for the 868L or why it's defaulting to 802.1ac.  Any ideas out there?

What is the Mfr and model of the main host router?
What wireless modes is the main host router set up for? Mixed or single mode?
What channels are you using on the main host router?
40 feet is quite the distance. Any building materials in between the main host router and the 868L?

Hi, thanks for checking in on my post.  I'm from Canada.

Main host router is an Actiontec T3200M.
wireless modes: mixed mode 5GHz a,n,ac (it does not support 2.4GHz)
channel is set to "initial channel selection only" and the current channel is 149
40' is an exaggeration I guess.  Maybe 25' through one floor (drywall ceiling and wood flooring)

Mixed modes will use any modes that the router and bridge best suited for distances, signal quality and range. 5Ghz is effected by building materials. So they maybe using the best mode they find while handshaking. You can set single mode on 5Ghz to N or AC on the main host router and see what happens.
What does the 868L say on it's status page when connected?

I take it back, there is 2.4GHz available. I didn't notice the radio button on the main router's page. See below.  There's lots of options for the wifi radio mode, any recommendations or should I just play with it (see attached picture)?



And I know I've read it before but I can't figure out how to log into the 868L again. I've tried 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.50 with both the Lan plugged in and not plugged in.

Yes your main host router is a dual band router. They all are now days.

Since the 868L only works on one band when in wireless bridge mode, you don't have to do anything with 2.4Ghz.

To log into the 868L while in bridge mode, look at the connected clients list on the main host router. The 868L probably has a different IP address while connected to the main host router. Use this different IP address to log into the 868L from a PC.

I logged into the 868L.  The status page says it is connected on channel 11 and doesn't say much else.

netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid is only showing my main router now, I don't think the 868L is being listed.

I also installed inSSIDer office trial to see if I could monitor the wifi strength.  The MAC address of the 868L is not showing there either, it is just showing the MAC address of main router. So it's connected to the 2.4Ghz radio if it's on channel 11.

Are you wanting it to connect to the 5Ghz radio?
