Title: Cannot Remote access the DCS-2630L
Post by: gqdoll on January 31, 2017, 09:23:29 AM
Folks,  New to this board but have read several of the posts related to my issue.  Tried several of the solutions as well to no avail.  Basically, I can connect to the 2630 via MyDlink on a PC web browser and via smartphone app but only when the PC, the phone and the 2630 are all on my local network.  I have had no joy in connecting when a PC or my smartphone is not on my LAN.  I have a DCS-932L and a DCS-5222l that both work flawlessly and appear to have the same configuration settings as the 2630.  One thing I did notice last night while fiddling with it was that the MAC address on the 2630 does not match the MAC address on my router's device list.  Could this be the cause of the inability to connect to it remotely?  I really like the camera and it's features and would like to get this figured out.  Thanks on advance for any help or suggestions.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.26 DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=37689.0) both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)
Verify important here.

Can you access the cameras web page and see if the MAC address is listed there maybe in the status or networking page. Verify here with whats on box, sticker and whats seen on router. I don't think this is the issue.

What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera. A1 per MyDlink via web on LAN
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status. 1.04.00
What region are you located? USA

What Mfr and model is the main host router? ARRIS NVG589

Interesting that I can change the name of the 2630 on mydlink page on my LAN and then see that change effected on my remote app.  Still cannot connect to device though.

Is uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding enabled on the 2630L?

Yes.  uPnP enabled and uPnP Port forward enabled (External HTTP Port = 81; Ext HTTPS Port = 443; External RTSP Port = 554)

I don't have much of a clue as to what all that is, but that's what the network page says for the camera.

I would do this. Fill out a email support ticked for this camera model. Give them what you've said here. Also include the mydlink # for the camera as well. I had issues
with my DNR and the mydlink service as well last year. It worked on the Lan side, just not with the MDL service. After a couple of days, it started working.
This needs to be looked at by support.

I would turn off all cams and try again with 2630l first. . Reboot router after turning off all cams

Try to ENABLE the funcion: WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) on your modem. That works perfectly for me. I think this is only aviable if your modem or router is 802.11N or above.

Most router have this enabled already. Hopefully this will help future users.  ;)

I have DCS-2630L,  P/N BCS2630LLNAN.A, H/W Ver A1 F/W Ver 1.00 , I do know the s/n, MAC address, and the IP address assigned by my router.

After very painful install, I've gotten it so that I can view image on my phone, but only  when phone is on the same Network as the camera. That's useless for remote viewing.
One site says, "access the cameras web page" ... Where do I find the web page for the camera.  Only my sense of decorum blocks me from making certain profane comments about the D-Link software.  LAsailor in Los Angeles

Have you connected it to the mydlink.com  (http://mydlink.com)services?

If you connected it to the MDL services, you can view the camera video from any remote location outside of your home network
