I noticed there is no forum for the DCM-301. Im curious what kind of diagnostics it shows.

Haven't seen anything on it. I know I think you mentioned it way back years ago that you found a PDF on it. It just posted last year officially. Took a while. I haven't seen any users with it. I don't think it supported on my ISP or I would have checked one out.

Haven't seen anything on it. I know I think you mentioned it way back years ago that you found a PDF on it. It just posted last year officially. Took a while. I haven't seen any users with it. I don't think it supported on my ISP or I would have checked one out.

Furry, when you going to upgrade to the SB6183?  16x4 channels and a RF spect built in. To be honest they are still working out the kinks on some ISP, but should be last modem before DOCSIS 3.1

I don't work for a cable company anymore. I have moved up to the glass room. But what has me excited is the GPON FTTH that "may" be coming soon. 1000Mb down and 1000Mb up with like 1/4th the latency and close to 90% QoS. I wonder if Dlink will make a fiber modem in the consumer price range soon.

IMO, I doubt D-Link would Mfr a GPON modem at all. Theres to may other mfrs doing it. I'm amazed that they did a DOCSIS 3 modem. I presume that may have been a limited production run maybe. I presume if D-Link hasn't done a GPON modem by now, they probably won't.

But they have..actually made a couple, just nothing with Wifi AC and nothing for the US market, which is odd. See link below. Can't buy in US but globally it goes for 160-180$ US.

I presume there is more regulation maybe on what gets produced here in this region and trying to compete with all the other GPON MFrs, D-Link probably can't complete on that level here. Is interesting though...

Yea, even FIOS hasn't incorporated Fiber with ethernet with ActionTec, and they have been working together for over a decade. D-link used to have agreements with ISP's but not so much anymore. I think the main reason you don't see anyone making GPON for consumer is most ISP pay for the fiber ONT, in other countries maybe they don't?

I agree. I presume ISPs probably dictate what goes on over here. I do see more and more ONTs being handled in homes now. See some users positing about it and not working right with routers. Another ball of wax I guess. Cableone will be the last to upgrade anything beyond 100Mb now. They just upgraded there 2 top tiers this year. We go a free 1Mb upgrade on the uplink about a year and a half ago. Fiber and 1000Mb won't be see in my state for a while unless someone else brings it in. I see that century link is attempting to place Gb ISP on either side of this state however nothing for us with in it.
