Title: Android equivalent of iSpy for local / remote archiving of streamed video
Post by: larkim on April 19, 2017, 07:54:40 AM
I used to run iSpy on a PC which would connect to the 930L camera just fine and stream an mjpeg from the camera to folder on my PC which was sync'd to Google Drive.  Through this route I was able to have a full recording of webcam whenever I wanted it.

However, I no longer have a PC running permanently at home, but I do have a spare Android tablet that I'd be happy to have permanently powered up doing something similar.

Is there an android app that would be capable of doing this?  I've tried googling but there are so many android apps for using their built in cameras as webcams, rather than hooking into a local / remote one, and none of the webcam apps that I've found seem to allow for saving their stream directly to Google Drive.  I could FTP but the framerate is so poor and I don't think FTP or email options allow for a moving mjpeg to be created.

Thanks!

Might as Google if they have any thing they use for streaming video from cameras...

Only other thing to mention would be a DNR-202L.

Cheers - not looking to spend money on a new device, sadly, just want to re-purpose an existing one.

Not fronted up the cost yet, but looks like TinyCam Montor Pro might do the job.  Feature list suggest cloud uploading is available.

One to give a try to tonight I think.
