High ping
« on: March 24, 2021, 06:30:13 PM »

Hello everybody,

I´m using DAP-1530 (AP750) as an repeater in my office. My desktop is connected to the repeater by an Ethernet cable. I' ve used to play CSGO on my notebook (same table where the repeater is)  and would have a ping of about 10ms. I'd expected my ping to increase but on average I'm getting a ping of about 200 ms. Is there anything to solve this problem?

What is the distance between the DAP and the host wifi router?
Pings can be normally higher when using extenders. Not recommended for gaming. Wired directly to the host router is preferred for gaming.

Check your Wi-Fi signal strength: Make sure the repeater is placed in a location where it can receive a strong Wi-Fi signal from the main router. If the signal is weak, it can cause latency and slow speeds.

Check the channel: If you're experiencing interference from other nearby Wi-Fi networks, changing the channel on your repeater can help reduce interference and improve your ping. You can use a Wi-Fi analyzer tool to see which channels are the least congested.

Check your Ethernet cable: Make sure your Ethernet cable is not damaged CSGO high ping and is securely connected to both your desktop and the repeater. A damaged or loose cable can cause connection issues.

Check your computer's network settings: Make sure your computer's network settings are configured correctly. Make sure it is set to use Ethernet as the primary connection rather than Wi-Fi. Also, check your network adapter settings and make sure they are set to optimal values.

Update firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your repeater and install them if necessary. New firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs or improve performance.

Consider upgrading your equipment: If none of the above solutions work, it may be worth considering upgrading your equipment to a newer model with better performance, especially if you're using older devices.

By trying these solutions, you may be able to improve your ping and overall gaming experience when using a repeater.
