Can't get a brand new DIR-826L to connect with xbox 360, wirelessly.
Tried WPA2 and WEP encryption, 802.11 mixed, 802.11g. Won't connect to the network.
PS3 connects fine.

Try using WPA or WPA2 and AES only.

Thanks. Still can't get a network connection. Bummer. Guess I'm stuck with my cisco router. Also noticed my macbook air doesn't like mixed n/g but works fine with the triple mode.

Try setting 20mhz only and use TPIK on security. Does the xbox connect if you temporarily turn off WIFI security as a test?
-
Tried 20mhz (default) TKIP on 2.4 band still won't connect. Will not connect on unsecured mode either. It won't connect to the 5ghz band either.
I guess I don't have the patience to go through all of the possible permutations to get it to work. I'm going to give it to the parents as their replacement router instead. Maybe it will have better range than their dir655.
Thanks for your help.
Btw I did notice the signal strength was superior to my Cisco one.

If the xbox won't connect even in un-secure mode then seems like there is an issue w the xbox. Xbox slims have been known to have issues with there wireless cards. You can get a add-on 5ghz adapter for xbox consoles. I use one w my xbox, works great. If the PS3 connects and the xbox doesn't, tells me that radio on 826 is working correctly. Sure xbox is setup correctly? Settings should be automatic networking.
Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) if your interested. Its safe and secure.

Its on auto setting. I have the red elite Resident evil edition with the black wireless adapter that should work even with a,b,g,n. I don't think i want to by another adaptor. Must be just a finicky xbox.
Actually, you did just give me another idea to try it on my son's newer xbox, just to see if it will connect. Will let you know later.
Thanks again.

Keep us posted. ;)

Yeah...it was the Wireless N adaptor for the old xbox 360. The slim xbox works great.
Thanks!

Now you know. You can get the old 360 a new adapter or even get a DAP-1360, 1522, 1525 or 1533 and upgrade the WiFi link between the 360 and the host router. Just connect the LAN cable to the DAP and use the bridge mode.
Hope it all works well.
Enjoy.
