Title: Can view camera with MyDlink App but not with Browser
Post by: RickALO on October 14, 2016, 08:17:37 AM
I have a weird thing happening.... I set up two DCS-932L wireless IP cams in a store for security purposed approximately 2 years ago.  Approx. 3 weeks ago, one of the 2 cameras now cannot be viewed using the MyDlink web site, using any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE)... I can still view the live feed from the other store camera thru any web browser.

If I use the MyDlink app on my android phone, I can still see BOTH live feeds.

I have cleared caches, on browsers, and plug-ins deleted and reinstalled, but still can only see the feed from one camera. The other weird thing is the cameras BOTH show the "green checkmarks" next to their camera name.

I should note BOTH cameras have the same firmware installed, and both cameras are approximately the same distance from the router. I had the power to the camera in question unplugged, and re-plugged, with no change.

Any ideas why this one camera would not show its live feed on my web browser, yet shows the live feed fine on my MyDlink phone app??? And both cameras show "green checkmarks"??

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Are both using the same ISP and Mfr router model?
Ya seems strange that one does and the other doesn't however shows green marks.  :o

yes... the cameras are literally 20 ft. apart within the store, using the same router, and internet.

These cameras have had no live feed issues until this occurrence within the last month.... I'd suspect one of the cameras was going bad, if I couldn't see the live feed from my MyDLink phone app (and the green checkmarks on both cameras).....

Really strange.

They are both using the same video quality settings?

Can you view each cameras video logging directly into the camera's F/W ?

And your tests have been done remotely - off site?  or locally on your store router?

all my access to the feeds has been remotely. I had one of the managers at the store unplug the camera, and plug it back in hoping it would change, but no luck.... I have tried it on 3 different pcs/laptops here in my home, all with the same result. I even tried accessing the camera from my laptop while on a trip, and using the hotel ISP, but same result...

I have not been able to access the cameras directly, as I have not been into the store, and I haven't used Teamviewer so as to not disturb the users at the store.. Just so weird that I can access it via the phone app... makes me think everything is setup correctly, and possibly a browser issue, and then I remember the other camera works fine on the browser...

I have not been able to access the cameras directly, as I have not been into the store,

You need to setup port forwarding on the router at the store.

Login to router (you might have to do that locally if you haven't turned on external access).
Find your camera's local IP address.  example: 192.168.1.101 and 192.168.1.202
Find port forwarding section.
Tell it port 8081 points to camera 1, 192.168.1.101 port #80
Tell it port 8082 points to camera 2, 192.168.1.202 port #80
Then save.

Then your external ip address (should be available in your router pages, or google "what is my ip address" from teamviewer inside the store,so as example conitnues:  66.32.23.43:8081 will take you to camera 1, and 66.32.23.43:8082 will take you to camera 2.

*only other thing I can think of would be the router needs reboot?  they can act strange sometimes.

let us know if you get anything working.

Thanks.. I'll try to slip in there next wee.... hard to mess with the system while the store is open, as they use network also for their POS (Point of Sale).

My apologies for not posting a status update... not long after my last post, the camera(s) both began displaying/broadcasting normally, as it had before this problem. I did nothing to the components, or the system at the store.... Not sure what transpired, but its working, and that was my issue...

Thanks for your suggestions and guidance..!
