Title: performance issues
Post by: vianluigi on April 06, 2021, 08:11:39 AM
I am new here, maybe you can help me solve my problem. I recently brought in a 619L B3 firm 204es, it has been working perfectly for a couple of months but has recently dropped in performance. The symptoms are:

-Full packages lost (30, 40%, 50%)
-The wan DHCP connection launches a renewal very often so it disconnects
-I can't update the firmware because it throws an error
-This happens both in the wired network and in the wireles

Try resetting the unit back to the default settings. If problem continues, try reflashing the firmware (same version).

What is the exact error when trying to update the firmware?

Many of the DIR-619L units were sold to ISPs and may have ISP-only firmware.

Thanks,
This is the error:
The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this device, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.

If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again.

The Gateway will not be reprogrammed.

" try reflashing the firmware (same version)." Where i can find the  619L B3 firm 204es , i tryin in google but icant find this version

All public firmware is posted at https://tsd.dlink.com.tw/ (https://tsd.dlink.com.tw/)

I looked up this model and B3 was designed for EchoStar (ES) - Hughes.net ISP and they lock the firmware so you cannot load non-ES firmware. Firmware updates were from the ISP.

Did you buy this router from 3rd party/ebay?

You can possibly try a crash recovery/emergency firmware upgrade:

1. From the link above, download a rev Bx or B3 firmware for the DIR-619L and unzip it (if zipped).

2. Unplug the cable from the Internet/WAN port.

3. Turn off the router. Hold in the reset button with a paperclip and then power on while holding the reset button down.

4. Wait about 10 seconds and release.

5. Statically assign your computer an IP address of 192.168.0.2 / 255.255.255.0.

6. Open a web browser.

7. Go to http://192.168.0.1. The Firmware Recovery page should appear. If not, Try step 3 again. Note this may take a few tries to work.

8. When completed, the router should reboot. You can then set it up from scratch.

Well that worked, I was able to update the firmware ;D.

I'm going to do some tests to see the performance of the router

Well, I'm very happy I managed to update the router, and it has improved a lot, it already disconnects us from DHCP and there are no lost packages

Muchas gracias

Thanks a lot   :D :D :D
