When it rains it pour furry!!
I'm setting up a PC (WinXP) in my oldest sons room so he can play minecraft and be on speaker phone with his friends from Louisiana. I reinstall the software for the DWA-160 and pull up the Connection wizard and attempt to connect to our network. I put in the password and nothing happens. I'm looking at the adapter now and the light is on but it wont connect. I even tries doing the WPS connection and nothing.
What can I do?

Using latest driver from web site? Remove current drivers, reboot then install latest drivers from web site.
What OS are you using on the PC?
PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
- Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

It has the driver that came with it, its not in front of me so im not sure which version it is but its not the latest. This particular PC runs XP, and I have used this adapter with this computer before. I will work on removing the drivers and reinstalling the new drivers today and will disable the antivirus protection while installation is going on. Edit: Do I have to hve an internet connection while I'm doing all of this? I can hard wire it
Will update later today, Thanks again

No luck! For some reason I couldn't download the latest firmware off the website. I will most likely go get a new one or get a powerline Adapter

You can't get the latest driver from the web? ???
-
correct. For some reason it wont let me click the link on the pc that I want the driver downloaded to. I kept uninstalling and installing the software but nothing. I guess we will just go buy a new adapter and see if that works.

Try a different browser to download it. Disable browser add ons and security SW. It should download. Does for me.

Ok, I will try that.

Keep us posted...

Haven't made time to attempt anything. I shouldn't have to work so hard to get it to work. I will try this weekend to run a line or 2 through the walls
