How do I change my WPA password?
« on: October 13, 2010, 09:51:54 AM »

Wondering how I can change/view my WPA password.  Trying to sync up my iPhone on my home network, but don't remember my password to set it up.  I tried going to 192.168.0.1 on my web browser to get to the D-Link admin page but it would not show up.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok...I finally was able to get to the D-Link log-in screen using the 196.168.0.1 address, but I don't remember my password.  I tried leaving it blank to no avail.  Any idea on how to reset the modem's password?

There is no way to reset the password without resetting the whole router. Try checking your desktop for, or your computer for a file called: "Network Security Settings". Or check the jacket the router's CD came in. Im going to guess you used the CD in the first place to set up the router, which by default stores the network security key in those two places.

If all else fails, you can reset the router back to factory default by holding the the reset button on the back with a paperclip or something. I would only recommend that as a last result, since you then have to go back in and resecure the whole network.
