No, Protected WiFi is a separate option under Advanced.
Yes, turn off Extra Wireless Proctection as well.

Try using WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
WEP isn't as secure as WEP.

Might have someone teamviwer.com in and check your router settings out for you if your interested.  ;D

After switching to WPA-Personal for the security, it seems the problem has vanished.  I'll keep monitoring it over the next couple days just in case though.   THANK YOU soooo much for helping me!

Okay so finally the problem started again. At this point I am unsure if it is my ISP modem or the router, but it definitely is one of those two.

This time the problem occured on wi fi even when i connected to both networks in my house. So then I unplugged my other router and went wired with the DGL 4500. By the time i went wired, all the pages started loading again normally. I switched back to wireless and yup, everything was loading. So I was probably too late to see if it was a wifi problem or if it was my modem. If everything was working on wired but not wifi then it would be obvious, but if everything didn't work on wired either then it has to be a modem problem. Till next time.

Basically when this happens, its like some sites and some internet connections work and the rest dont. For example I can load the wall street journal just fine but cant load youtube or gmail. MSN doesn't work but reddit loads.

Might try connecting directly to the ISP Modem and see if you experience any drops.
Is your ISP cable or DSL?

be sure you have Short GI Relay off...

and by the way...

you are having WAY too much radio interference in your place.  it doesn't matter how much encryption you put on the radios they are beginning to communicate with each other and that is what is locking up the DGL-4500.  eventually i'll put up a diagram of how my network is set up, but i recommend you get off of that slow wireless internet gateway.  and get a real internet through cable :-D

having that many Wireless routers is a nice thing though, since the DGL-4500 only handles up to 3 wireless clients decently, but having them that close will only create cross communication and lock up the DGL-4500, however, if you put one on G and one on N you might be able to survive, but all this extra RF interference is going to drown out the Wireless Gateways connection.  its like using a bunch of high pitched noises in a kitchen to speak privately in presence of a spy's mic, it will only pick up the static noise, and you can easily speak to your friend, but at close proximity.  what you got going on is your ISP is the spy's mic, and your routers are the high pitched noises.  disable all internet radios and try that out.
