Title: DIR 615 --> 655; World of Warcraft!
Post by: RobBob on April 16, 2010, 02:45:14 PM
Hey guys :)

Ive just recently replaced my old DIR 615 with the 655 and have found that it is some how interfering with my latency whilst playing World of Warcraft - not a big deal, but frustrating since I was led to believe that this router was better suited to gaming.

Wireless results: http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/results.php?t=1271453522&v=9752149

As you can see, I am able to achieve relatively good DL speeds and more importantly low ping rates, however when I go ingame my latency sits at around 250-400ms.

Curiously, when I had the DIR 615 I never encountered any latency issues, aparts from those due to my ISP. I am leading to think that there are some settings on my new router that I did not have on my old 615.

I have already port forwarded all WoW ports; being 3724 and 1119. I would just love to know if anyone here could tell me the settings I need for optimal gaming experience. *bare in mind, I play wirelessly*

If you need any other information, please just ask.

Thank you very much.

EDIT: I am using the Intel WiFi 5100 AGN
