Just download the instillation cd from Hp website. Don't use the disc that it come with they are outdated and never locates my printer in my network. Also you said you tried the drivers but have you tried like the installation Cd from the site?
Edit: But by knowing Trikein hes probably 50 steps ahead of me  :o Have you tried this?

LOL. I'm telling you, HP and Belkin is my kryptonite. But nahh, I get stuck all the time. One part of me loves it because thats how I learn. :-) When you hear me swearing my head off at a computer..you know its party time. hahahaha

But actually that link may be just what I need. Its very simular to the one for my brother printer. Awsome find! I didn't have the CD (lost it in the move) but I saw the full package on the site. The thing about that is it installs all the HP utilities and junk. Almost a GB or more of stuff(the 200Mb is just the installer). Nevermind the litterly..1000+ registry entries it makes? I am sorry, I don't like it when I get adware from my printer telling me to buy ink. ::chuckle:: Granted..it won't be my computer, but still. I even had problems with HP updater that litterly locked my computer up at 99% CPU usage. Had to hunt in the registry for the key to disable it. Since then..nahh, driver only FTW. But the link may do the drink. It looks like a port scanner that problably sends ICMP through a certian port range and listens for a ACK:REC then uses that info to make the custom TCP driver. Thats why I can see the printer, and talk to it, so I can pass HTML to and from, but my print spooler cant send to it.

Here's what I do for my LaserJet P2014 with Wired LAN as I see your printer has wired LAN capabilities too?  ::)
1. I have the printer wired up to my switch and gave it a static IP.
2. I then installed HPs printer port monitor found here on each pc:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=jd-65723-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
or 64bit http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=jd-65724-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
3. I would then add the printer via Printer and Faxes, using Add printer wizard/Local/Create New Port/Select the down menu arrow and select HP Standard Port Monitor. Continue thru the windows and inputting the IP address of the printer, then using Have Disk, browse out to the Driver CD or download and unpack the driver only version for this printer and have it ready and browse to this folder and point to the driver ini file. It should come up and have a couple of models to select. Select your model. Continue thru the windows and allow the printer wizard to finish the installation and then have it print a test page to make sure it works.

This will need to be done for each pc that you want to print from. Seems like it take a while but it doesn't doing this type of install.

The reason for using HP Standard port monitor is for the use of bi directional communication. MS Standard port monitor is one way only and no IPv6.

Yes the other way of installing would be to install the printer via USB, once it's installed, share out the installed printer icon, then you'll have to go to each pc and connect to it and install it there for each pc. Can be done however you'll have to leave the connected PC on all the time if you do it this way.

Ahh, been there. I had a issue with the video driver for my 5770, compatibility bug, Starcraft 2, and Aero on my gaming rig. After reinstalling the driver after a hard crash, it just stopped working. After 2 weeks between ATI and Microsoft, I finally said screw it, and reinstalled. I had all my data on my 2nd drive though, with my OS on a SSD.

Well when I bought my high end system, I had to make a choice. For my systems specs, the 5770 was just too much bang for the buck to pass up. My next rig I want to try them out..but I am also thinking of trying AMD then too..but they can sometime play better with ATI so..who knows.

But on another subject, moved this post here:

Yea, I have noticed how little posting the Lycan posts on here. Not sure if that is a compliment to us...or a insult. LOL. J/king  ;D

I do wonder though..are there any other forums except the ones on the US server? I checked Australia and UK...and didn't even see a forum. Consider Dlink is out of Taiwan....oooh while browsing around I just realized Dlink offers other products outside the US. This is both fun to know, and relevent. Check out this sweet thing I found

ya the mods here don't post probably as much as they should. They are out here watching. I think more of them as police. Something happens, they step in and about the only time you see them.

As or PCs, I've always been AMD and NVidia fan. They bought a competitor company out which made better cards then they did, wish they didn't. Oh well. They seem to work well at least for me.

I have done a few PCs with ATI and the SW always never seemed to install correctly. Always had to PNP or get updated Drivers from the web. Once I got them installed, they seem to work ok.

Ya I was trying to remember that company. I had 2 cards from them a 3500 and a 4000. Man, for the time and technology, they were way ahead of Nvidia and ATI. Easy to install and worked like nothing else. Was sad to hear they were bought up by NVidia. Nice to know someone remembers them. There was a group that carried on drivers and such after they closed. Not sure if it's still out there. Oh well, so here we are, stuck with 2 different chip sets now...Jaton was ok. Still, 3DFX, will never be another like them again.  :(

And now ATI is going to dissapear. Not the company, just the brand. AMD is just going to incorporate it into their AMD brand.

I still have my Voodoo3 3000 PCI card. Using the 3DFX plugin on Playstation emulators with this gives me the best graphics I've ever seen.
