What are the best 825 settings?
« on: September 05, 2011, 11:06:52 PM »

I have been having troubles lately finding the "sweet spot" in regards to settings for my 825 (not rev b). I have the latest firmware - 1.13. I would like to maintain my 300 mbps wireless connection. Lately it has been hovering around 100 from 7 feet away.

Some of the settings i am playing with are the Channel for the 5ghz N network (dedicated N, not mixed), transmission rate (best), bandwidth (40), Beacon Period (100), RTS Threshold (2346), Fragmentation Threshold (2346), DTIM interval (1), WLAN partition (not boxed), WMM enable (boxed), and Short GI (boxed).

Any recommendations to get the best performance out of my router?

BY what do you mean by boxed and not boxed? Do you mean Checked or UnChecked?
For the 5Ghz radio, I run single mode N only and use default settings however I uncheck WLAN Partition and Short GI. Leave Channel and bandwith set to Auto.

Other factors like near by WiFi and household cordless phones can impact your experiences.
