DWA-140 RevB2 Driver Issue
« on: September 05, 2010, 07:07:26 PM »

I just got a DWA-140 RevB2 adapter, but it won't install the driver properly on my Win7 64-bit desktop. The installer gets stuck right after it prompts me to plug in the adapter to a USB port. I've tried 1.70, 1.71, and 1.60 as well as straight through plug'n play with no luck. The driver installs fine on my laptop, which runs Win7 32-bit, and the adapter runs fine. Any ideas? I'm also wondering if this could be a BIOS issue.

Thanks

Try not running the setup.exe...
Try plugging the device first then, once prompted for the drivers, browse for the drivers...

OK nvm I got it solved. It was a bios issue as I suspected. The bios that came with my Gigabyte P55A-UD3 mobo has USB connection problems with some devices (such as iphone - and in this case the USB wireless adapter). I flashed the bios and now it all works fine.
