Title: DCS-825L - Image and Video URLs
Post by: rc1234 on January 01, 2016, 05:51:06 AM
Hi,

I am having trouble connecting to third part camera viewers and getting a 720p feed.  Most only seem to support the 480p feed (which I think they are getting by using a MJPEG stream or hitting the image URL (which only seems to ever return 640x352 image).  The mydlink web app seems to use the following URL to get a 720p H264 feed:

CAMERAIP/av2/ACVS-H264.cgi?profileid=2 - via a plugin.  That is also video only, and it uses an info stream and a separate audio stream.

When you take a snapshot with the plugin, it does not do any additional requests so I assume that creates the snapshot from the video stream.

Is there a URL to a MJPEG stream that returns a 720p stream or a URL to a JPEG image with a height of 720?

thanks,
Richard

i connect to mine using VLC, the streams can be reached at:

rtsp://user:pass@ip:554/play1.sdp   > 720p, 25FPS
                                 /play2.sdp  > 720p, 10FPS*
                                 /play3.sdp  > 360p, 10FPS*

(*not 100% sure on the output of the second two, I only use play1)

I tried to use the 720p stream in Synology Surveillance Station. This D-Link device uses some kind of proprietry container format, which cannot be handled by 3rd party applications. So unfortunately, it's not possible to use the HD stream.

Contacted support about it, this is there answer: This model is sold as an easy to use surveillance option marketed for baby monitoring needs. Ease of setup etc. So there really is not any advanced options available.

I'm trying to get my DCS820L up and running on Synology Surveillance Station, too. I am using the following:

IP: camera IP
Port: 554
Type: User Defined
Source: av2/ACVS-H264.cgi?profileid=2
username: admin
password: password when setup completed

I'm getting no success. I assume the 825 is similar; are your settings different?
