Title: Google/Yahoo email send limit: how do you get around it?
Post by: Notworried on June 29, 2014, 08:44:37 PM
I had been noticing that camera emails were mysteriously stopping between certain times and for the life of me I could not figure out why. I even switched from gmail to yahoo mail with the same result. I have since found out that both servers limit outgoing mail to 500 a day. It sounds a lot but if you have turned on motion detection (which is a total failure, by the way), you could get that much in a few hours. As it is I am missing most events of interest. Not sure what the solution is.

Stop sending alerts if you are sending that many.

Get a home automation system which can detect doors opening and closing with intruder alerts.

The motion detection code is so crummy that you either have to get a million alerts a day or miss what you are interested in. Door alarms are not relevant here. I  like to monitor the outside.
