Title: "Click" noises on audio
Post by: rleppane on November 21, 2013, 03:38:44 AM
Hello
I've been using DCS-932, DCS-933, DCS-942 and DCS-2130 with iSPY software for some time now. The other cameras work pretty well, but DCS-933L produces audio clicks every 5 minutes, two short clicks at 2 sec intervals. This causes alerts based on audio. Is there a bug on the camera, or is it maybe a problem with my 933L specimen only ..? I have set video to "night mode always" in order to avoid possible clicks due to light switching, I have even disabled NTP. I believe the clicks might be similar to the IR/non-IR relay switching. So I don't understand why there are these noises even if I have set the camera to work constantly in IR mode.

Try plugging the DCS-933L into one of the same power outlets and locations as one of your other cameras to rule out electrical interference and other environmental factors.

Try plugging the DCS-933L into one of the same power outlets and locations as one of your other cameras to rule out electrical interference and other environmental factors. Post back and let us know if that helps.

I just bought a 933L and it does click each time when switching back/and forth to Day/Night.
It has nothing to do with then power outlet. I think that how they disigned the camera: micro relay inside that turns on/off the 4 nightvision LED's ...

For me, there are clicking noises regardless of the time of day...As long as I know that it's something the camera does, I'd be kind of OK with it. But I'd rather it not click at all. Kind of creepy sometimes...

Is there more than one audio option? Try the other one.

And is this on live viewing? Wireless? Recorded is ok?

The click heard with the camera switches from day to night mode and vs versa is normal and can not be fixed. It's the noise of the mode actuator is all. Nothing to be bothered by.  ::)
