What about the oled "disk full" message - is the "disable" option working properly now?

So my Scan disk option stops at 70% and fails everytime I run it.  Just what i've noticed...

I would like to see a disk optimization feature to rid the dreaded slow speeds that happen from time to time where people have to move the data to external drives and reformat the disks in the dns-343 to only move the data back to it. That's a bit much if you ask me. What's the point of having a NAS?

I have noticed the SMART test takes on the magnitude 20 minutes to complete whereas on 1.03, it took about a minute to complete.

Got home yesterday and my DNS-343 was unresponsive, couldn't ping it or log into it. Everything on the network was fine when looking at the box physically, no harddrives were spun up, no fans were blowing all I had was the screen telling me everything was fine. I set my IP and subnet mask manually to match the subnet and IP scheme it was on and plugged in directly with my laptop. Nothing....after manually powering down which it got stuck doing and rebooting it multiple times I got nothing. So I reset it and got he 169.254.x.x IP address. I set my laptop to match and connected directly and via the switch it was connected to and was able to log in fine. So I figured no biggie, I started configuring it and the only thing I changed was the IP, Subnet mask, Gateway and DNS. I click save....and boom. Locked up. I reboot manually and the screen shows the right IP, but no connectivity again. Nor could I directly connect. I reset to defaults again and this time tried to set it up via DHCP, clicked save...boom, locked again. So I figured, leave it over night after resetting again and configuring the IP, maybe it just needs time. Nope, no good. So tonight when I get home I'm loading 1.03 back on it. Hopefully it works!

Great.....downgrading to 1.03 bricked it. Anyone have a way to get data off a raid-5 config without the dns-343? I just lost 4.5Tb if not.

From what I have read in these fourms, you will need to plug all drives into a PC and from there, there is software that can retrieve your data, but didn't get the name of it, maybe someone else can help, I'm gutted you have bricked your device

There is a third party application called "R-Studio" that (in theory) will enable you to mount your four HDD RAID 5 array in a PC. I haven't tried the software myself, so you'll have to investigate on your own.

Just for anyone trying to get to the download but having trouble, you may want to switch browsers.

I'm on Mac and my Safari simply would not go to the ftp site with/without the cache reset.  Had to open in Firefox (I have no idea why).  It could be that I have extra add-ons in firefox that enabled it or something - just thought I would give a heads up.

Firefox also creates a cache of the FTP directory. Reloading the page refreshes the directory contents.

The WD20EARS are advanced format HDDs. Although FW 1.05 supports advanced format HDDs, D-Link did not post a list of compatible drives, so I can not say whether the WD20EARS is fully supported.

i see in release notes that this fixes the fan can't rotate error message

v1.05

1. Support Advanced Format Disk.
2. Fix some ADS issues with groups not always appearing
3. Fix "fan can't rotate" error message.

i have 2 units with that issue which i assumed meant the fans aren't spinning, can someone provide details as to what the "fix" is?
