Title: Turn DNS726-4 into plain NAS
Post by: jallan on April 29, 2011, 02:41:39 PM
Does anyone know a way to load different firmware or an alternate image onto a DNS-726-4? I want to turn my DNS-726-4 into a pain old NAS box. I dont need to record my camera's anymore and want to instead use the DNS-726-4 for file storage on my network.

Thanks!!!!

I can offer you a different proposition. I have a DNS-323 that I no longer use. Would you consider swapping it for additional cost?

I would certainly consider this! If your offer is still open let me know what your thinking swap wise... ;D

Hello, I am also trying to access the 726-4 from Windows Explorer, with no success.

All I need is to use it as a plain NAS, has anyone got any clue on how to do it? The manual says nothing about this.
