Title: Wizard failing to connect to mydlink
Post by: mrmarmite on April 29, 2019, 04:12:12 AM
When I go through the DNR-202L wizard, all seems to be going well. I can add all 3 cameras, and the firmware is up to date. However, when I select "I already have an account" I constantly receive an error: A[Unable to sign in to mydlink] Unable to sign in to mydlink at this time. Please try again later. (Error code: BINDERR001)

The login name and password are definitely correct, and I can use the same credentials at mydlink.com without issue.

I have factory reset the 202L

Any help much appreciated.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What browser are you using?
Do you have a PW set for the DNRs management web page? Ensure you have a PW set on it as this could be one cause.

HI,

v2.05.07

In UK at moment
Netgear Router wndr3400
Yes to password

The DNR logins just fine in a browser, and shows all 3 cameras attached.  I can login to MyDlink, and it shows my 3 cameras. Just can't link the DNR to my account, and thus nothing shows up in the mydlink view app

Cheers

What browser are you using? Try IE11, FireFox or Opera with the wizard.

Might try to get it connected with a mobile device and mydlink lite or mydlink wifi app.

The setup wizard is a standalone executable

mydlink lite only connects to cameras, not the DNR, unless I am mistaken

Ya your right. Lite only does cameras.  ;)

I haven't, I actually set up my 202L yesterday and was playing around with it. I haven't walked the wizard for a while since mines been attached with the MDL service since I first got it.

What browser are you using? Try IE11, FireFox or Opera with the wizard.

The Wizard is a standalone executable, nothing to do with a browser

I don't use the stand alone executable. Try the wizard in the DNRs web page.

the executable is about 3 years old and hasn't been updated. So it maybe out of date and incompatible.

Could you let me know where on that page can I link the DNR to my mydlink account?  Thanks

Select the Star wand icon on the DNRs web page.

Welcome to the DNR-202L Setup Wizard. This wizard will guide you through setting up your Network Video Recorder (NVR). Begin by clicking the Next button below.

1. Set Password
2. Choose Time Zone
3. Set LAN Connection Type
4. Set Device Name
5. Finish

Still nothing about connecting it my my Dlink account. Am I missing something?

The CD setup is the only way to add the DNR-202L to your mydlink account.

You may need to call tech support in the UK. They can send your account info to the engineers to see why the DNR-202L is not binding.

When running the setup, make sure the dnr-202L and the computer running the wizard are connected to the internet. The error you are getting basically is saying the DNR-202L cannot communicate with the mydlink servers.

Did you purchase this outside of Europe? Some older mydlink products are regional.

It was purchased in the USA, very annoyed if that's the reason.

I assume the CD is the same as downloading the wizard from dlink?

Something I don't see on UKs support web page...I don't remember it being supported in the UK. Only the 312 and 322L and 326L are supported in UK.

That is most likely the issue. The UK support team can hopefully find a workaround.

Yes, but the DNR-202L is hard-coded to connect to the US mydlink server. SInce you are in the UK, your account is on the European servers which will not allow some USA (or non-European) products register.

Instead of using my mydlink account, I created a new one, which seems to have worked. However, now I need to move all the cameras over to the new account.  The myDlink View app does nothing, just a grey screen and a logout button, seems many people have the same problem.

I wouldn't need to do any of this had dlink allowed the DCS-2670L to connect to their cloud

Thanks for the help
