DWA-171 Windows 10 64-bit "No Wifi Networks Found"
« on: December 30, 2017, 01:19:08 PM »

Dear D-Link Forums,

I have a DWA-171 that Ive been trying to Troubleshoot for about 4 months. The Drivers from the CD and from the site install successfully but Im not able to view and Wifi Networks  within Windows or in the D-Link Utility. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Note: When Plugging the DWA-171 into my Windows 7 64-Bit Laptop, and my Windows 10 32-bit Laptop Im having the same issue. Also Dont be afraid to talk to me in technical terms, Im A+ Certified, took a Network+ and Windows Admin Course, and Im currently studying for my CCNA, Security+, and Windows Server 2016.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Is the adapter appearing in the device manger as a good successful installed device?
What is the USB v#.0 HW port version on the PC? 2 or 3.0?

When installing on a 64 bit Windows, do a full uninstall using the SW. Then try doing a reboot, hit F8 and select disable Driver Enforcement feature. Continue to boot then install the driver per instructions.

What Mfr and model # router do you have?
What wireless modes are you using on both 2.4 and 5Ghz? Mixed?
What wireless security modes are you using on the router?

Getting ready to take A, Networking and Security + this next year.

Are the SSID names hidden?

Does the adapter see any other SSID names of neighboring SSID names or if you go to a different location with a different router?
Try setting no WPA anything on the router temporarily and see if the adapter sees and connects. Try a different SSID name. Re-enable WPA2 after testing.

These laptops same mfr and model or different?

Been studying C# and SQL.  ::)
