Title: DCS-2330L firmware download problems .cpgz?
Post by: nweir on September 21, 2015, 10:43:05 AM
I have downloaded the DCS-2330L firmware .bin file. When I open it all it does is change it to a .cpgz file. When I click on that file it goes back to a .bin file.
It is stuck in a loop and will not open. I have tried to re-download the file and have tried on other computers. It does not open. Why is this?
I am on a Mac not a PC. I am guessing this may be the reason. Do they have MAC specific firmware downloads or are there any other solutions to this?
I have tried the D-link tech support with no success.

Don't open the .bin file. Just download it to the desktop. Open up the 2330Ls web page. Look at the main host routers dhcp client table to see the IP address if you don't know it off hand. Once you access the cameras web page, go to Tools or Maintenance an you should see a FW section or FW update section. Select this. use the use FW file and select navigate to where the FW file is. Navigate to the desktop where the .bin file is. Select it and then select apply or OK.

Thanks.
I tried this, I get a failed to open page when it tries to upload the file. But I am doing this from work away from the camera that is running through wifi at home. Should this be something that is done with the camera hardwired to my modem at home?

*Update*  It looks like it did add the update after all even though it had the failed to open page.
Thank you for the help

Please be at home on your local Network with a PC thats wired to the back of your main host router. If the camera is accessible physically, I recommend LAN wired connecting the camera as well. You can update wirelessly however.

So I updated to the latest firmware successfully but I am still having problems with receiving email notification when motion is detected. I have double checked all of my email information and it is the exact same as my other camera that is a DCS-2132L. I get email notification from the DCS-2132L but not from the DCS-2330L. I have gone into the advance server side set up and run a test but get a Test Error. Any suggestions on a fix?

Is uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on both cameras?
Is the 2330L using a static IP address? Try 192.168.0.23
