VLAN configuration with DGS 3120
« on: October 29, 2012, 09:56:40 AM »

Sorry if posting in wrong section (can't find DGS section).

I have the following configuration on 2 DGS3120 switches.

port 2 untagged vlan 2
port 3 untagged vlan 3
port 4 untagged vlan 4

port 5 tagged with vlan2,3,4    (There are 2 of these switches, and this port connects them together.

port 6 tagged with vlan2,3 (uplink to network)
port 7 tagged with vlan4 (uplink to network)

MSTP enabled,  connected to a Cisco switch.

My laptop is connected to port 2 switch1
Workstation is connected to port 2 switch2

If I remove port 6, my laptop can't access port2-switch2

Why?  Shouldn't connection now go through port 5?
 ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
