Port forwarding not working
« on: June 04, 2016, 04:56:06 PM »

I have been trying to make the port forwarding working on this router for a while and now i am out of luck.

I am trying to forward a port of my ip camera and it does not seem to work. This is my current settings.

1) My ip camera is running it http://192.168.0.107:49832/. The ip is taken via DHCP of the router.
2) I went to port forwarding of my router and add the 192.168.0.107 in ip and 49832 in the range of input-outputs.
3) I have used a port checker tool and it shows that the connection is open but when I use the public ip and port in the browser it says "The site can't be reached"
4) To rule out the problem of my camera, i then installed a ftp server at 192.168.100:88 on my laptop.
5) I then used the port forwarding in the D-link router the same way to forward the port.
6) I again then use port checker tool and it shows the port is not reachable this time.

I am not sure what else to try at this point. Any suggestion is appreciated.

There might be restrictions on forwarding port 49,000+.

Try something less... like 8085 as a test, or your 88 that you used.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
  • Turn on or off DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench and input new DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual.
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
  • Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules. Enable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming for routers that have a Media Server option. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 or Media Server is not being used.
