access nsa behind 2 routers
« on: March 22, 2014, 01:43:06 AM »

Hi,

I have a main router and then a second one, in another part of the house, to which the nas and a Mac are connected. I can access to my nas from that mac and even open filezila and access via ftp, but i'm having an issue when trying to access to my nas when not connected to that router: i can't.

Maybe it's not an issue of the nas ... i don't know. the fact is that i tried to open all ports both in the main and second router .... but cannot access.

any help?

It sounds link both of your routers have a DHCP server running. There should only be one in your network.

Try disabling the DHCP server in one of them, and let one router handle the assignment of IP-addresses, then you should have no problems connecting between the two routers.
