VPN IPSEC LAN-to-LAN with DSL 2740 or 2770
« on: April 19, 2014, 01:24:42 AM »

Hi, in my house I have a router which acts as VPN server with IPSEC (a Fritz!Box).
At my parent's house I have a DSL-2740B and a DSL-2770L. I would like to set up a VPN LAN-to-LAN, so that from each LANs you can access the other directly over the Internet.
I found that the two DSL models support ipsec port forwarding, but I want one of them to establish the VPN connection and forward the whole class of IPs of the other LAN through the VPN (and viceversa).
Do you think it is possible?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Dear FurryNutz, you replies are always very useful. Are you able to respond in any other way?
The forum is an impressive tool to put in contact users with similar problems and share their solution. This is why someone uses it instead of asking directly the producer.

Kind regards.

My responses are for users to get more immediate help and information regarding some modem issues and questions presented here in the forums. There isn't a lot of DSL forum activity nor is there a lot of DSL modem users here in the NA region as most of the forum users are from the EU and other WW regions. Most of the DSL modems are used there and have different features across the product lines. I for one don't use DSL here in my region. Basic WiFi, Networking and set up and some trouble shooting is about all we can offer for DSL modems. Most users here are using these as basic Internet connections for there home environments. Any more detailed or specialized like your asking about may or may not be supported, either by the HW or as a networking standard. So I request that users contact there regional D-Link support office for quicker responses to help and information regarding these DSL modems as they will have good information on what you can do.

I suppose if I had one of these modems to use, I'd have a better idea of maybe to help you out however I don't. Sorry.
