Not able to upgrade firmware version
« on: August 25, 2010, 05:43:38 AM »

hi,

I am currently running firmware v 1.12EU Hardware A2. When I try to update the firmware I constantly get the error that this the uploaded file is not a valid firmware. I am updating from a wired connection.

If click the button "check online update" it tells me I am running the latest firmware.

Any hints?

Cheers
Peter

you downloaded a .zip file, and unzipped it right?  Then tried to update with the bin file inside?

I believe I am in the same boat as the OP. I bought a new 855 from ebay.
The label on the outside of the box says H/W Ver: A3 F/W Ver: 1.12EU
The label on the back of the router says the same as above.
The LED device info says H/W Ver: A2 F/W Ver: 1.12EU.
The web config (top right hand) says Hardware Version: A2 Firmware Version: 1.12EU.
Clicking the Check Now button on the Firmware page says I'm running the latest.
I haven't tried using the 1.20 for the A2 because I'm not sure if it's meant for A3 as well.

Can anyone clarify?

Is there no one at all who can confirm whether the latest A2 firmware can be used with hardware labelled with A3?
