Title: Help- Port forwarding is not working.
Post by: ValiantStag on March 01, 2016, 11:18:28 AM
Hey, I need some help. I have the DIR-866L router.
I've been trying to port forward, so that I can play with my friends without using a client like Hamachi. However, the site won't let me.
When I enter the information (or more specifically, any information at all), all I get in return is Error 413 ("Request entity too large.")
How do I get past this, change this, etc.? What should I do?
Thanks in advance.

EDIT: For the record, I've tried-
1) Using another computer
2) Restarting my router
3) Both of the above
no dice.
:c

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF or Chrome?

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Gotta fill this all out again. Sorry for the delay.

Hardware version: A1.
Firmware version: 1.00
Region: MI, USA
Wired connection,
Yes, i've reset before (including just now),
N/A because it has not updated.

ISP is Cable;
Modem Mfr is D-link of course, and the Model is DIR-866L.

I am using Chrome.
I've tried Firefox with the same results.

Okay so I just tried doing the manual setup and changing the options to Static IP. I had to restart my router because I couldn't connect to it (either that or it was taking a VERY long time..)
I'll continue to try other options.

WELL! I don't know what did it, but somehow I got it to work! I think it's because of the settings I disabled in Chrome, actually, as per your Troubleshooting thread.
Thank you very much for your help!

"ISP is Cable;

the Modem is what the DIR-866L connects to get to access to the internet from your ISP.

Glad you got it working. Enjoy.
