Connection Refused
« on: August 23, 2007, 07:35:41 PM »

I am running Vista Ultimate on my P/C.  I purchased the D-Link 655. Installed fine no problem until,
I went to check my email, using Outlook Express.  I CAN NOT send or receive email.
I can view my "NEWSGROUPS" just fine. The same thing happens with Netscape, "Connection Refused"

My Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail all work fine.

What am I doing wrong ?

Is there a setting on the router that I missed, that will not allow me to connect to Verizon for my emails.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Dave

Could be Window$ firewall.  Try to disable it and see if the problem is still there.

Thanks for the advice, it was that "Windows Live One Care Firewall"  that was blocking it.
What a crock ...  Now I shall try it turning on the "Windows Firewall"

I hope this works.

Thank you for you help,

Dave
