quiet lights mode
« on: September 15, 2007, 07:21:10 PM »

I have my router  in my bedroom. Could you make it so there is a setting that after 9p or something the lights go out, or a single light stays on. Also the flashing internet doesnt make sense, i would rather it just be steady.

I agree completely.

The router is brighter then the streetlight outside my window.  I had to resort to a strip of electrical tape.

Yeah....would be nice if the lights could be dimmed....or turned of...without powering off the router.... 8)

I agree, I would like a dimmer switch to control the resistance of the LED's. My entire room glowed a bright blue at night.  I resorted to black electrical tape.

Or change the hardware to be like the DWL-900AP+ so you could only see the lights from a certain angle, wait nevermind I hated that. :o

I would like a acceleratometer in the DIR-655, like a mac book.  When you wanted to shut off the lights you just give it a healthy smack     ;D

I don't know if smacking things is a good way to do anything, but the ability to dim the lights is definitely a valid request.

it could be done with a change to the firmware. maybe a section that could offer a timer function that would dim them at night?

I want this option as well. Currently, I use black electrical tape to cover the front panel.

LED's by nature are either on or off, they cannot be dimmed.

Sounds good to me, on or off option would be great!

I have my router in my bedroom also and I just turn the router so it isn't facing my bed :)

Seriously though, it's not like positioning of these awesome routers is going to matter?
