DSL-2640B - where I find this option
« on: January 20, 2015, 11:24:39 AM »

Hi,

I want to configure the D-Link DSL-2640b to allow connections from Internet to my local dvr despite I can access it from another network
I searched in some websites I find it was just a WAN Service configuration called "Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports."
I can't find the WAN Service nor find this option at all

this is screenshot from my router

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your modem? Look at the sticker under modem.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the modems web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

I would review the user manual to see if there is an option listed there. There may not be an option for it on this particular modem.
Is uPnP listed? Try disabling uPnP and test if you have port fowarding set up.

Try removing those rules and set up one rule that starts at port 0 or 1 and end port at 65535 for the DVRs IP address.

How are you logging in from remote locations? Do any remote locations work to access the DVRs services?
Do the DVRs services support additional remote access?

which rules you mean I need to remove

I can logging from another network using my_public_ip:port and is working  41.100.252.212:80 but can't access using it in my network only access via the internet_address:80
there is remote in this NVR

If your referring to access from the LAN side then you can't use the WAN IP address:80 to access it from the LAN side. For LAN access I presume that using the DVRs LAN IP address would be only needed...

what's the solution to get access in the same network WAN IP address:80 because when to access using smartphone with this ip in another network when I'm away or I'm at home I can't change it everytime from local ip to public ip everytime I exit my home and vice versa

in another website some people say the problem that block access from ccess in the same network WAN IP address:80  you need to  it was just a WAN Service configuration called "Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports."

the answer from another website
Quote
The problem that not even the D-Link support was able to settle in Brazil, it was just a WAN Service configuration called "Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports."

Follow the path: ADVANCED SETUP > WAN Service, then click the "Edit" button from the WAN service you want to change, then NEXT then NEXT again and there are some checkboxes on the screen.

One is "Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports." Check this checkbox and click "NEXT" 3 times more and finally click the "Save / Apply" button. Finally, just reboot the router.

With this option enabled I can access my web server, located in my home, from the Internet!

but I can't find those option in my router dlink dsl-2640b

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I'd give the office in Morocco a try first:
